Traveling exhibition ship
Rhine River, Germany

The NRW Bank in Germany wanted to create a traveling conference and event space that could be easily moved from location to location along the riverfronts of various German cities. Their solution was a specially outfitted river cargo ship dubbed the Ideenschiff, or Ship of Ideas.

The deck area is protected by SEFAR® Architecture TENARA® Fabric, making it useable as an all-weather gathering and event space. The canopy shades the passengers from the summer sun, wind and rain. At the same time, the 20% light transmitting fabric allows enough light in during the day to eliminate the need for artificial illumination.

The canopy was designed and installed by Taiyo-Europe.
